Tantalum Shims are crafted from high-purity tantalum (≥99.9%), with strict control over trace elements like oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon to ensure optimal chemical resistance and ductility. Tantalum boasts a melting point of around 3017°C, one of the highest among metals, and a density of 16.6 g/cm³. It delivers a tensile strength of approximately 200–250 MPa, excellent ductility, and can be easily cold-formed. Thanks to its inert nature, tantalum is incredibly resistant to strong acids, including hydrochloric and sulfuric acid, as well as electrochemical corrosion, making it perfect for challenging environments that demand both chemical stability and mechanical reliability.
