Nitinol Tubes consist of about 55–56% Nickel and 44–45% Titanium, designed to have shape memory or superelasticity based on heat treatment. They possess a tensile strength of up to 965 MPa and can recover up to 6–8% of strain. They also possess good torsional strength, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility, particularly important in medical applications. The transformation temperature can be adjusted according to particular design requirements. Their outer and inner diameters can be tailored to high dimensional precision for use in critical systems.
