Nimonic Bars consist of 50–80% Nickel, with Chromium (up to 20%), Titanium, Aluminum, and small amounts of trace elements such as Cobalt. These alloys have very good creep resistance, high tensile strength of up to 1000 MPa, and excellent oxidation resistance above 800°C. The bars retain strength at elevated temperatures and have good fatigue and corrosion resistance. The material is usually precipitation-hardened for added durability. These characteristics make Nimonic bars suitable for extreme, high-stress situations in aerospace and thermal processing applications.
