Monel 400 or Monel K500 alloys, which are mostly composed of nickel (63%) and copper (28–34%) with trace amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon, are commonly used to make Monel valves. In challenging conditions, this composition provides exceptional mechanical stability and corrosion resistance. High ductility, yield strength of 170–345 MPa, and tensile strength of 480–620 MPa are all provided by Monel 400 valves. Because they are precipitation-hardened, Monel K500 valves offer even more strength and durability.
