Monel 400 or Monel K500 alloys, which contain roughly 63% nickel and 28–34% copper with trace amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon, are used to make Monel Sheets and Plates. Monel 400 has outstanding ductility, a yield strength of 170–345 MPa, and a tensile strength of 480–620 MPa. For increased strength and hardness, Monel K500 is age-hardened using titanium and aluminium. Both grades retain their mechanical integrity under heat stress and show exceptional corrosion resistance, particularly in chemical and saltwater environments. Because of these characteristics, Monel sheets and plates can be used in corrosive and heavy-duty applications.
