Invar 36 Sheets and Plates are made up of roughly 36% nickel and 64% iron, with only trace amounts of carbon, manganese, and other elements. This alloy is known for its incredibly low thermal expansion (~1.3 x 10⁻⁶/°C) across a range from cryogenic temperatures up to about 260°C. It boasts a tensile strength of 490–620 MPa, along with high dimensional stability and good ductility. Invar 36 retains excellent mechanical properties in both cryogenic and ambient conditions. Its low magnetic permeability and ease of machining make it an ideal choice for precision manufacturing environments that require high stability and tight tolerances.
