Hastelloy C-276 wire is made up of about 57% nickel, 15% molybdenum, 16% chromium, with iron and tungsten. This composition provides excellent resistance to oxidizing and reducing environments (such as sulfuric, phosphoric, and hydrochloric acids). Mechanical properties involve tensile strengths of 85–120 ksi based on wire gauge, yield strength of 35–55 ksi, and elongation of 25–35% for flexibility. The wire is cold-drawn and heat-treated to achieve a refined grain structure, guaranteeing fatigue resistance, dimensional stability, and surface smoothness, suitable for precision spring, resistance, and sensor applications.
