Hastelloy C-276 tube has approximately 57% Ni, 15% Mo, 16% Cr, iron, and tungsten to improve structural integrity. This combination provides superb resistance to both oxidizing and reducing environments, such as chlorides and sulfuric acid. The mechanical properties are tensile strength of 95–120 ksi, yield strength of 40–60 ksi, and elongation value of 25–35%. Seamless cold-drawn tube is subjected to heat treatment for fine grain structure, high toughness, and pressure rating. Welded tubing is completely annealed after process to reclaim ductility and corrosion resistance. Both versions are appropriate for mechanical and corrosive service.
