AWS Class ENi-CI electrodes are made up of a nickel-based core, with small amounts of iron, carbon, and silicon added, all coated with a flux that enhances arc stability and slag control. The weld metal produced is soft, easy to machine, and crack-resistant, making it perfect for joining or repairing gray, nodular, and alloyed cast irons. You can expect typical mechanical properties like a tensile strength of around 400–500 MPa, along with good ductility and low shrinkage stress. These electrodes are versatile for both AC and DC welding, ensuring smooth arc starts and minimal spatter.
